The Office of the Reserve of the Biosphere in Lanzarote, the Tourism Council of the Cabildo (inter-island Council) and the Society of Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote (SPEL) are working on a diving guide of Lanzarote in order to let the island be known as a diving resort due to its many qualities. Also the guide intends to bring together touristic promotion of the fore-mentioned product and the protection of the underwater world. Lanzarote harbours 22 out of the 62 authorized diving centres present in Canary Islands, that is, 35, 4% from the total amount.
Likewise, the Tourism Council and the Office of the reserve of the Biosphere in Lanzarote have published 2000 promotional posters and 3000 triptychs which portray one of the most attractive diving areas of canary Islands: Playa Chica, in Puerto del Carmen. The triptychs have condensed the content of the diving guide book, which will be finished by summer 2011.
Also, the Office of the Reserve of the Biosphere will launch the website –www.lanzaroteideal.com- where information on underwater activities in Lanzarote will be given.
